Just chilling among the temples ...

18/12/06 - Hyderabad

Mosque-at-sunset photo, near the Charminar

19/12/06 - Hyderabad

Hyderabad's (apparently famous) Charminar gate-come-mosque

20/12/06 - Hampi

The active temple in the middle of Hampi
On the hill overlooking the temple, among the other ruined temples at sunset

21/12/06 - Hampi

Looking back along Hampi Bazaar from the far end
As always, treating the local monuments with the respect and decorum which they deserve ...
Tropical vista towards Hampi from the river
A stone chariot which actually used to roll at one point

22/12/06 - Hampi

The temple elephant, Lakshmi, having her early morning bath
and having her early morning banana, apparently.
More ruins to explore - obviously this is an Islamic watch-tower
A monkey, watching the sun go down from on top of a ruined temple
A huge and eerily inhuman (or possibly just monumentally ugly) statue of Lakshmi

23/12/06 - Hampi

Exploring along the river from Hampi
and riding in a coracle
A monolithic statue of Ganesh (the one in the background)
And more ruins - this is the tank associated with a ruined Krishna temple

24/12/06 - Bangalore

Government building in Bangalore (there's not a lot to see in Bangalore)
We found a small ruined fort (you can see about 30% of it in this photo)
Tipu Sultan's palace is about the only real tourist attraction - certainly the only one you have to pay to get in to.
And that night we got to Mysore, where they lit up the palace
